Physicochemical properties and application of ceramic sand


Ceramic sand, because it uses bauxite after high temperature calcination, effectively removes harmful substances such as sulfide, and then is formed by melt blowing, so it has unique physical and chemical properties. Specifically reflected in :

  1. The thermal expansion coefficient of the ceramic sand is 6x10-6, which is comparable to the low expansion performance of the pick sand ;
  2. The thermal conductivity of ceramic sand is 5.27, and high thermal conductivity leads to high stability.
  3. The angular coefficient of the Ceramic sand is less than 1.1, which is similar to the spherical shape and has good fluidity. 
  4. The pH value of the Ceramic sand is between 7 and 8, which is a medium-sized material and can be combined with binders with different acid-base values. 
  5. The Mohs hardness of Ceramic sand reaches 8-9, which is not easy to break. 
  6. The refractoriness of Ceramic sand is above 1800 °C, which can effectively solve a series of problems caused by high casting temperature. 
  7. Ceramic sand grain size range of 6 to 270 mesh, can be graded according to customer needs.
  8. Ceramic sand surface is smooth, no cracks, no bumps .
