Why Choose Resin-coated Ceramic Sand Shell Molding Process

About Resin-coated Ceramic Sand

Taking advantage of the properties of fused ceramic sand, resin-coated ceramic sand has the following features like high temperature resistance, low expansion, easy collapse, high strength and low gas evolution.

For particularly complex sand cores, ceramic sand has good fluidity and can solve the problem of inaccurate shooting.

Resin-coated ceramic sand shell casting process has the advantages of high production efficiency, high dimensional accuracy of castings, good surface quality, simple and convenient reclamation of used sand, greatly reducing the pollution emissions of solid waste, and improving economic benefits while achieving significant environmental benefits.

Comparison between Resin-coated Ceramic Sand and Traditional Investment Casting

At present, two traditional processes of silica sol and sodium silicate are used in investment casting in China, which requires high professionalism and technology for molding operators. Restricted by many factors, such as a wide variety of raw materials, complex process, high temperature and humidity requirements of the production environment, the molding process is complex, the causes of defects are various, and the production cycle is long. Industrial workers have high labor intensity and high energy consumption for modeling. It is difficult to clean the castings in the later stage of precision manufacturing, and the cleaning workload is large. The cast shell waste basically has no reuse value, and the discharge of the shell waste causes damage to the environment.

Advantages of Resin-coated Ceramic Sand Shell Molding Process:

1. The molding process is simple and the cost is low.

The type of molding material is single, the molding material is only resin-coated ceramic sand, and the hot box molding method is adopted. There are no special requirements for the production environment, the process is simple, and the professional and technical requirements for workers are low. The mechanical forming method is adopted, the size of the molding is controllable, and with stack molding can we get high production efficiency, short cycle. Finally it greatly reduces the labor cost and energy consumption.

2. Significantly reduce the discharge of solid waste. The waste sand after casting can be recycled by thermal method to realize the full recycling of ceramic sand for molding, which greatly reduces the discharge of solid waste compared with investment casting.

3. The disadvantage of resin-coated ceramic sand shell molding process is that the surface roughness of the casting is better than that of sodium silicate process, but at present it sometimes can not reach the level of Silica Sol precision casting. However, it has great potential for development in the future.
