"From January to August, the added value of high-tech manufacturing increased by 8.4%, faster than the growth rate of all industries, and the trend of continuous industrial development has not changed." On September 16, Fu Linghui, a spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, was in China. At the August press conference on the operation of the national economy, the new office stated that in the face of a complex and changing international economic situation, industrial production had stabilized and slowed in the first eight months, and the industrial structure had been optimized. Jian Fu Linghui introduced that in August, the value-added of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 4.1%, joint-stock enterprises increased by 5.3%, and foreign-invested and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-invested enterprises increased by 1.3%. Divided into three categories, the added value of the mining industry increased by 3.7%, the manufacturing industry increased by 4.3%, and the power, heat, gas and water production and supply industries increased by 5.9%. The added value of high-tech manufacturing industry increased by 6.1%, of which medical instrument equipment and instrument manufacturing industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, electronic and communication equipment manufacturing industry increased by 11.8%, 8.3% and 5.4% respectively, which was 7.4, 3.9 and 1.0 percentage point. The output of 3D printing equipment, smart bracelets, smart watches and solar cells increased by 152.9%, 74.2%, 51.8% and 42.1% respectively.
The reporter noted that in August, the value added of industries above designated size in the country increased by 4.4% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.4 percentage point from the previous month. Fu Linghui said that industrial production growth slowed slightly in August, there are indeed downward pressures on the economy itself, the international environment is complex, and the domestic structural adjustment is also at a critical stage. The special factor is that the working day in August is one day less than the same period of the previous year, which will have a certain impact on the production speed of some industrial enterprises. In addition, the influence of climatic factors on industrial production in some areas cannot be ignored. In August, the number of typhoons landing in the country was 1.2 more than the historical average. Excluding these special factors, industrial production continued to maintain steady growth in August.
"It should also be seen that industrial production is still facing some difficulties and challenges." Fu Linghui said that from the perspective of future development, counter-cyclical adjustments are increasing, and the formation and implementation of the loan market-based quoted interest rate mechanism has recently been promoted. These reductions have provided support for the development of industrial enterprises. The next step is to further strengthen counter-cyclical adjustments, increase the "six stability" work, and promote the stable and healthy development of the industry.
